<img src="/icons/report_blue.svg" alt="/icons/report_blue.svg" width="40px" /> I'd like everyone to get downloads and grow their newsletters. The best way is by sharing in ways that engage potential readers. These are things I've been seeing more success with.

Not as helpful
- Just sharing the promo graphic or book covers only
More likely to bring clicks
- Include the promo cover or square graphic and recommend one or more specific books within the promotion
- Give a little info about the book(s) - its genre, tagline, and maybe a short pitch
- Add a link to the images and make a button to click
Ideas
- I use a columned style of graphic so I can have two columns. My email provider doesn’t let me do columns and I want to conserve space to avoid the email size cutoff.
- If you use a graphic for this, make sure the text is big enough to read (even on mobile). I've heard most people reading our newsletters are on mobile. See the example graphic.
- Link to the promo in more than 1 way - on the graphic, text, buttons, etc.
Example newsletter graphics
If you use graphics, don’t put too much text in graphics. Otherwise, your newsletter subscribers can’t read it on mobile. This is as small as I’d recommend.
I use these methods, but see what works for you!
Make it Easy for Other Authors to Feature You!
Consider putting the following in your book's page for the promo to help us all to share about your story. If we have to really work to get info on your book, it's less likely anyone will feature it.
** = the most important tips.
- ** Eye catching cover art
- ** Genre in at most 5-7 words (fewer is better)
- ** Your tagline
- (Helpful, but optional) Book pitch/gist in 1-2 sentences (like less than 60 words - think tweet length)
